We have finished the book City of Ember as a novel study in class. Today we got to watch the movie! We wrote the differences between the book and the movie using a Venn Diagram. Wow, the movie is a lot different. The students loved being able to watch the movie after working so hard to read the book. One student told me he is checking the book out at the public library because he wants his mom to read it too!
Our novel that we will begin reading in November is Blood on the River. It is more historical fiction and tells a story of how Jamestown first began. This ties in great with what we are studying in S.S. with explorers and first colonies in North America.
